Blog Metamorphisis

Originally, I started this blog for a Bible study. I recently read where a lady blogs about her family each year. At the end of the year she prints off her blog and creates a book of family memories. I love the idea, hence the metamorphosis. Regularly, or as often as time allows, I will be sharing the blessings that each day brings our sweet lil family and all the silly and crazy bumps along the way. I am keeping the butterfly theme. God definitely continues to do a mighty work in our family, a transformation...

So let the journey of words through our life begin.

Is it really worth the pain?

In the introduction, Lisa shares a funny story about wearing very stylish boots that were less than comfortable. What a great analogy for life...

In life are the little decisions we make to 'feel' good worth the pain and heart ache later? Have you ever found yourself in one of these situations? What are some of the feel good things that women find ourselves falling into and what is the real 'cost'?

Getting to know each other...

So that we can all get to know each other a little better, let's introduce ourselves. Be sure to include your name and one way God has worked in your life big or small.

Here's mine for an example:
Kristyn Butts: Several years ago, it was the end of the month and the bank account was getting very low. I had decided that the groceries for the rest of the month were going to have to be bought with the credit card. When I went to the mailbox that day, there was a card with $100 in it. To this day, I have no idea where it came from, but thank God for whoever it was!

A mess in need of a perfect Messiah!

Our first Bible study was such a blessing. Begin reading the book, A Perfect Mess. We will be discussing the introduction and Chapter One for the next two weeks.

So that we can maintain a positive environment, please be sure to follow a few guidelines.

~All postings need to be related to our Bible Study and reading. Just a friendly reminder that this is not a social network, but a forum for growth and discussion that is pleasing to God.

~Confidentiality - We want everyone to feel comfortable sharing and participating. So please don't discuss personal information with those who are not part of the Butterflies Gather and Grow.

That's it! Now all you need to do is register and start blogging :)

Book Selected & Date Set

Do you feel less than perfect? Do you feel unworthy of God's love? Do you feel that you reguarly fall short of the plan God has for you? If this is you, your not alone. This is me too. Our first book is going to be A Perfect Mess by Lisa Harper. "In your less-than-lovely moments, God sees a precious daughter in need of His perfect love."

Taking Flight

Butterflies Gather & Grow will meet once a month in someone's home. I am looking at the 3rd Friday of each month. The weeks that we don't gather as a group, we will gather online. Each week I will post a discussion question or topic. Then from our reading and Bible Study, we can each contribute our thoughts about what we've learned. How does that sound? I would like to start getting an idea of how many people are interested. So if you are interested, please comment below or email me at klb4him@hotmail.com. Be Blessed!

Answering God's Call - Inspired by God's Servant

My Grandmother began many prayer groups for women during her years in the ministry. I feel God has called me to step out and really minister to women. So, here we go. Butterflies Gather and Grow is going to be a small group intimate Bible Study for women. Gather and Grow groups are a new ministry through Proverbs 31 ministries. Where did 'Butterflies' come from? Well, butterflies were one of my grandmother's favorite creations. Since she has been my inspiration to start this ladies' group, I wanted to honor her in the name. Also, the goal of this small group is for each woman to be transformed in Christ like a caterpillar is transformed into a butterfly. Below is the link with more information about Proverbs 31 ministries forever31 Groups. I have sent off for the leader's kit. Once I have the materials, I will be setting up our first 'Gathering.' Please keep this new ministry in your prayers as well as me as a begin to prepare.
